EDITORIAL AUGUST 2010

Primary Day, August 24th, is next Tuesday. I hope everyone will vote or has already voted. This is our duty in our Constitutional Republic!

I have a correction to make in one of the Congressional races, Illinois 10th District. Republican candidate, Robert Dold, is NOT endorsed by Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum. The previous endorsement by EF was withdrawn and the Candidate does not want the endorsement.

For further Candidate information from Eagle Forum for Congressional and Senate races, including Florida, visit www.eagleforum.org.

Also, regarding Florida, Christian Coalition has distributed voter guides for statewide races for each County. www.ccfla.org. Click on voter guide and scroll to your county. In the District 80 Florida House race, Art Argenio responded to their questionnaire and Debbie Mayfield and Bradley Ward did not respond. In the District 29 Florida House race, Roger Shealy and Tom Goodson responded and Erin Grall and Robert Dale did not respond.

You may also access the above site to see the Republican and Democrat candidates’ responses for U.S. Senate, Governor, and Attorney General. There is also information available on some of the Judge races.

There is much in the national news that has grabbed our attention. In my opinion, the Mosque location is a statement by radical Islam marking a victory. To me, this location is just plain wrong and will influence my concerns that Islam is not really a peaceful religion.

Perhaps of greater news with both short and long term devastating results is the move by the Federal Reserve to MONETIZE our U.S. debt i.e. buy our own debt. This is crazy economic policy and has never worked in any country in history. This will temporarily accelerate deflation and in the near future as more debt is “ purchased,” will accelerate hyper-inflation. ANSWER: STOP THE SPENDING,BALANCE THE BUDGET- NOW!

GOD PLEASE KEEP YOUR HAND ON AMERICA.

Sincerely, Dr. Craig McGarvey

The Declaration is a statement of the basic American values or Principles: equality, God-given rights.

The Constitution is the means by which these rights are to be secured: a federal republic consisting of a federal government and state government, with certain powers delegated to the federal government and others reserved for the states, with those powers separated into legislative, executive, and judicial branches. The Declaration is the foundation; The Constitution is the structure built on that foundation.

Martin Diamond, “The Declaration and the Constitution: Liberty, Democracy and the Founders,” The Public Interest, No.41, Fall 1975, pp. 39-55, at 46ff

Phyllis Schlafley writes that “The Declaration of Independence is the official and unequivocal recognition by the American people of our belief and faith in God. It affirms God’s existence as a ‘self evident’ truth that requires no further discussion, debate or litigation… It proclaims that life and liberty are the unalienable gifts of God, natural rights, which no person or government can rightfully take away…For the first time in history, our Declaration reduced government from master to servant. Government was proclaimed to derive its powers only from the consent of the governed.” July 9, 2010, Phyllis Schafley email

“ The failure to use the checks and balances effectively has allowed the judiciary to create new laws, by pretending to be merely interpreting old ones. Failure to use the checks and balances has also allowed the President to make thousands of new laws, instead of Congress, by issuing executive orders. It has allowed the federal government to invade the reserved rights of the states on a massive scale. It has allowed the legislature to impose taxes on the people never contemplated by the Founders of the Constitution.”

The 5000 Year Leap: A Miracle That Changed the World W. Cleon Skousan pp.207-208

“The Constitution is what gives us limited government, protecting our states from an all-powerful government….The Constitution is a problem for Barack Obama. Through its words, the Framers declare much of his blueprint to be unlawful.…he’s changing it by ignoring the limits it imposes on government, disregarding the parts of the Bill of Rights that forbid his agenda, changing the way democracy works in this country so that he and his supporters can’t be voted out of power, and creating a Supreme Court that will simply rubber- stamp and uphold everything he wants to do…Barack Obama’s blueprint would create the ultimate imperial presidency. It would be the end of our constitutional republic, and the beginning of a government with unlimited power over all our lives.”

On July 6th, 2010, Barack Obama bypassed the Senate and appointed Dr. Donald Berwick to head the $800 billion Medicare and Medicaid agency. Senator Pat Roberts, R-Kan., has called him a “known advocate of government rationing of health care.” WorldNetDaily posted on July 7th that Berwick is “outspokenly in favor of government health-care rationing, redistribution of wealth and destroying the U.S. system of medical care in favor of a single-payer government-controlled program.” Berwick has said that “Excellent health care is by definition redistributional.”

Dr. Richard Land of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission in an email article on July 12th said that Dr. Berwick has express extreme admiration for the British National Health Service “to the point of saying that he has romantic love for it.” He said the appointment should be headlined: “Medical rationing is here.” “There was no hearing on his nomination: reportedly the committee had not even completed vetting him. And Dr. Berwick had not completed the paperwork required by the Senate committee as an appointee.” By bypassing Congress “the President further clarified his flawed vision for the future of the nation’s health care and reneged yet again on his verbal commitment to government transparency and accountability.”

Blackwell and Klukowski write in The Blueprint, “But when Government is the only payer, it means Government will decide who gets what, when, where, and how. It means government starts rationing care.” P. 138

Giving money away through the welfare programs addicts people to Government. It deincentivises people to work. The bigger the Government, the smaller the citizen. More Government power=less citizen freedom. God gives us our rights, not the Government.

President Obama is “fundamentally transforming our nation. He’s leading a government takeover of our free market economy, including the best health care system the world has ever seen. He’s trying to grant citizenship and the right to vote to millions of illegal immigrants who have no interest in becoming Americans, pledging their loyalty to this exceptional nation alone and renouncing all other ties. He’s trying to silence his political critics, and muzzle those few media outlets that tell the truth.” Ken Blackwell townhall.com 7/4/10

Joseph Farah: copyright 2010 WorldNetDaily.com.Inc.

“But as Washington’s power and reach grew well beyond its constitutional restrictions, something happened. It started to supplant God. It became an idol and a source of worship.”

…….We’ve got to get our spiritual priorities straight. We’ve got to recognize that our government is either a blessing or a curse on us.”

Michelle Malkin: “Many of us still have faith in a strong, sovereign America—the unhyphenated, the law-abiding, the gratitude-filled sons and daughters and grandchildren of legal immigrants for whom such distinctions still matter. But it’s no thanks to the assimilation saboteurs who put ‘one world’ over ‘one nation under God’ “.

FEDERAL FUNDING OF ABORTION

Do you remember when the Health Care Bill passed and we were promised federal funding of abortion was not included in the bill, and the President even signed an Executive Order stating the same? In June, Congressman John Boehner asked President Obama to provide the American people with a progress report on the implementation of his Executive Order, which purported to ban taxpayer-funding of abortions. He received no reply.

Well on July 13th, LifeNews.com Steven Ertelt announced that “ the Obama administration has approved the first instance of taxpayer funded abortions under the new national government-run health care program.” Pennsylvania is receiving $160 Million to set up a new “high risk” insurance program which will allow coverage for any abortion that is legal in the state. The pro-life community was right that the language of the bill and the Executive Order were ineffective in preventing tax-payer funded abortions. Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee said, “The Pennsylvania proposal conspicuously lacks language that would prevent funding of abortions performed as a method of birth control or for any other reason, except sex selection—and the Obama Administration has now approved this.”

The next day it was announced that New Mexico would receive $37 Million for the same high risk elective abortions. Maryland was next.

All over the country concerned citizens have gathered in support of their Constitutional rights to try to get our government to listen to “we the people”. There have not been any incidences of racism or violence at any of the gatherings. However, at the July meeting of the NAACP, a resolution was made to “repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties” and stand against the movement’s attempt to “push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.” They condemned the racially explicit behavior of the Tea Party participants, but no examples were given. The timing of this ill conceived attack is obvious as the 2010 mid-term elections are around the corner and the President’s ratings are dropping. Mrs. Obama urged the NAACP members to “increase their intensity.” Excerpts from Michelle Malkin, townhall.com July 14, 2010

DEAR FRIENDS,

Have you been waking up in the mornings feeling that things just are not right and that life in America is unsettled and on a precipice not knowing what the next day or the future holds? If you are, “plugged-in,” to non-mainstream news, then you know the present dangers are injurious to the health of our nation physically, financially, constitutionally and spiritually. Yes, all of this is true; however, the indefatigable truth is that our faith and hope is not in politicians but in God and Jesus Christ our Savior.

We are living through God’s history and presently experiencing, I believe, God’s judgment. Why? Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, teaches us that a wayward sinful people who turn from the ways of God and murder the unborn will reap destruction unless they repent of their sins and end this abomination. The USA is in moral freefall as are the rest of the nations and we know why. I PRAY ALONG WITH YOU THAT GOD WILL FORGIVE US AS A PEOPLE AND A NATION BECAUSE WE REPENT AND WILL END OUR WICKED WAYS.

Please pray that God will have mercy on us all as we seek His face and continue our efforts proclaiming the Gospel while marching forward as Christian soldiers and winning the moral, ethical and spiritual cultural war for Christ.

Pray that God will allow the November elections to take place. That may seem a curious statement to you. Consider what would happen if the President issued the publically rumored Amnesty Executive Order. Several Senators have sent a letter requesting a response from the President as to its veracity. Not any reply, yet. Consider what would happen if there were a national emergency.

Are you aware that “Obama for America” now renamed, “Organizing for America,” is targeting young people and setting up “meet-up” groups for anyone interested? It’s on the internet, it’s in Florida and it echoes the tactics of the now renamed and diffused Acorn. The control of two of the branches of the Constitution, realizing that control of the third is just a heartbeat away, is the essence of absolute power and not to be lost easily. The Obama regime will not go away quietly.

Are you aware that a federal judge ordered, “cumulative voting,” in last month’s Port Chester, New York, city trustee elections? Each resident was given six votes to disperse any way they chose. All six votes could go to one person or spread among six candidates. The purpose, so called, was to give minorities a better chance of election. This is not isolated. This, “new,” voting rights interpretation and usurpation of the Constitution has been used in Amarillo, Texas, Chilton County, Alabama and Peoria, Illinois. What happened to, one person, one vote?

The Supreme Court ruled on 6/28/10 that the 2nd Amendment does apply to the states and all municipalities. The vote was 5-4 and the right to own a gun survives on a heartbeat.

GIVE THANKS THAT GOD IS SOVEREIGN, not man. May God Bless America.
